GEORGETOWN, KENTUCKY, (April 8, 2008) —Don “Buck P” Creacy, a Georgetown resident and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) team member will be featured this month on national radio for his storytelling skills.

Creacy will be featured Sunday, April 20 on XM Satellite Radio Channel 171 also known as “America’s First Trucker Channel.” Creacy will be interviewed for the segment called “Sunday Funnies” on the Dave Nemo Show. He will travel to the XM’s Nashville studios and be interviewed live for the 8 a.m. program. Creacy is scheduled to tell two of his most popular stories “eBay Tiger” and “Three Penny Momma.”

“It’s a surprise and of course it’s a great joy to get to be on a national radio channel like the Trucker Channel,” Creacy proclaimed. “I’m excited and slightly terrified and look forward to entertaining listeners,” he added.

Creacy says the station estimates that 3 million truck drivers listen to the show on Sunday mornings and throughout the day.

Creacy is known all over the country for spreading his “tall tales.”  He traveled more than 5,000 miles last year promoting storytelling and highlighting the Kentucky Storytelling Association and the Kentucky Youth Storytelling Showcase-a statewide contest for children interested in joining the craft of storytelling. Creacy is even a recording artist, with three cds to his credit. He will also be publishing a collection of his written works in the fall.  He also finds time to lead the Georgetown Storytellers Guild which meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Scott County Public Library.

A native of Texas and New Mexico, Creacy first came to Kentucky 25 years ago and has lived in Georgetown the past five years. He’s been with TMMK for 10 years, a toolmaker working as a skilled-trades specialist concentrating on building training simulators, as well as writing training programs and curriculum based on skilled trades and safety.
