In 2015, Toyota received 1,636 patents and over the last eight years has been awarded more patents than any other automotive company. This achievement illustrates the company’s commitment to ever better cars that achieve greater safety, environmental and technological advancements.
Toyota reported June 2016 sales of 198,257 units, a decrease of 5.6 percent from June 2015 on a volume basis. With one more selling day in June 2016 compared to June 2015, sales were down 9.2 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis.
The best-selling car in America for 14 consecutive years is on another streak that recognizes its American symbolism: another award from Cars.com for most American-made. For the second year in a row and sixth time overall, the Toyota Camry claims the top position on Cars.com’s American-Made Index.
