Toyota Announces Motorsports Activities and Plans for 2003 |
TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC), under the banner of “The Challenge of Aiming for the Top”, announced today its motorsports plans for 2003, which place competing in the top racing categories of the FIA Formula One World Championship (F1), the IRL (Indy Racing League) IndyCar Series and the All Japan GT Championship (JGTC) as its three main pillars. TMC also plans to continue cultivating top drivers for the future and carrying out activities that serve to support the foundations of motorsports. |

TMMK Names Six Employees To The YMCA Adult Black/Hispanic Achiever Program |

team members to serve as mentors in the YMCA Adult Black/Hispanic
Achiever Program.
The program is designed to prepare students for the future by exposing them to
a variety of educational, career and social experiences, which will enable them

Toyota Announces New Management System, Appoints Two Americans as Managing Officers |
In
order to meet increasing competition and rising global demands,
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has announced changes to its
management system designed to streamline and accelerate its
decision-making process and enhance its competitiveness.
The new management system and list will be officially finalized
at a board of directors meeting following the general shareholders
meeting in June. |

Toyota Stages World Premiere of All-New Camry Solara Coupe at 2003 New York Auto Show |
The all-new Toyota Camry Solara coupe made its world premiere at a press conference today at the 2003 New York Auto Show. The all-new second generation Solara is the most American of any Toyota to date. Born and bred in the United States, the Solara's product planning, technical and styling development was managed by Toyota Technical Center (TTC) in Ann Arbor, Mich., Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, Calif., and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Finally, Solara will be built exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky in Georgetown. |

Toyota Donates Automobiles to KCTCS Colleges |
Students enrolled in automotive technology programs at seven colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) will benefit from donations of automobiles by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK).
TMMK is releasing the vehicles to the colleges, where students will work on as they train for careers in automotive technology. |

Fundraising for the 2003 Toyota MS 150 — Bike the Bluegrass Outpaces Combined Totals for 2001 & 2002 |
Two-hundred and fifty-four riders pedaled more than 150 miles and contributed to the record-breaking total of $186,000 for the 2003 Toyota MS 150 - bike the bluegrass - more funds raised in 2003, than in 2002 and 2001 combined. This tour is part of the nation's largest premier cycling event. MS 150 tours take place nationwide, sponsored by 82 MS chapters in 47 states with more than 75,000 riders participating annually. |

Toyota Living Stream Exhibit Dedicated at Salato Wildlife Center |
The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation (KFWF) along with Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) dedicated the new "Toyota Living Stream" Exhibit on Tuesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at the Dr. James C. Salato Wildlife Education Center.
The Salato Wildlife Education Center is a free wildlife and environmental education facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) on the 132-acre Game Farm grounds located just over one mile west of Frankfort on US 60. |

Team Member Keeps Pace as Sports Radio Host
|
Many people may know his face, but many more recognize Jim Tirey's voice and name. Tirey, a team member on first shift in TMMK's Powertrain L4, has worked in radio since he was 14. After several years of hard work, he has the No. 1 sports radio talk show in the Lexington market. In his "second" job, Tirey is on air from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday on WLAP-AM. |

Toyota Announces Best-Ever Sales Month |
Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc.,
today reported its best-ever sales month in 46 years of business
in the U.S. with total August sales of 200,482, an increase
of 11.4 percent and breaking the previous mark set just three
months ago. The record-setting month also marks the first time
Toyota has recorded 200,000 sales in a single month. Calendar-year-to-date
(CYTD) sales stand at 1,273,255, up 4.8 percent over the same
period last year. |

TMMK Helps Launch KCTCS Major Gifts Campaign with
Donation of $500,000 |
Seeking to better serve employers and
communities and to change the lives of students, the Kentucky
Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) officially
kicked a multimillion-dollar fund-raising campaign.
The campaign, called "Fulfilling the Promise," will
expand access to postsecondary education and workforce training
across the Commonwealth by funding strategically targeted
initiatives.
During the campaign kickoff, KCTCS President Michael B.
McCall announced the first two major gifts received by the
System-level campaign:
- $500,000 from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, to
launch the KCTCS Center of Excellence in Automotive Manufacturing.
- $320,000 from the Kentucky Colonels to develop a scholarship
program that will benefit single, working parents who need
assistance to afford a college education.

Toyota Announces $15 Million Expansion of
Facility in Erlanger, Kentucky |
Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TMMNA) today announced plans for a 98,400 square foot expansion of the company's quality and production engineering laboratory. The capital investment in this project will be approximately $15.6 million. TMMNA also announced 75 new jobs will be created at the company's Erlanger campus over the next two years. |
