Toyota Honors Five Team Members for Distinguished Volunteer Efforts

Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) honored five team members for their outstanding volunteer efforts and community service during 2000. Their recognition came during TMMK's Annual Volunteers In Place (VIP) Awards Dinner held at the Lafayette Club in Lexington this past Saturday, February 17, 2001.

TMMK Recognizes Three Suppliers

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) honored three suppliers as Year 2000 Outstanding Business partners. Orr Safety Corporation of Louisville, SMC Pneumatics of Erlanger, and Concept Packaging Group of Cynthiana, all achieved the highest overall user ratings. The user ratings were compiled from feedback using the supplier surveys completed by each user department at TMMK.

Gary Convis Named President of Toyota Georgetown Plant

Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) announced today that Gary Convis will become president of its Georgetown, Ky. manufacturing plant, effective in April. Convis will be the first American to serve in the top spot at any of the automaker's vehicle plants.

Toyota Focuses On Five Non-Profit Agencies During National Volunteer Week

In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, 41 team members from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) will devote their entire workday to painting and sprucing up five different United Way non-profit agencies, during Toyota's Fourth Annual Volunteer Day this Wednesday, April 25, 2001.

TMMK Captures Another J.D. Power & Associates Quality Award

Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., has captured the Silver Plant Quality Award from the J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality StudySM. TMMK actually tied with Honda's Maryville, Ohio plant. Four of the automaker's North American-built vehicles — Avalon, Sienna, Corolla, and Tundra — rated best in their segment.
