News10/20/2009 GEORGETOWN, KENTUCKY, (October 20, 2009)—Toyota’s manufacturing division, which now builds 12 different vehicles in North America, has recently launched a tri-state wide advertising campaign. The campaign focuses on the company’s efforts to support communities across Kentucky, Indiana and southern Ohio as well as the local economies. George Lusby, long-time Scott County (KY) Judge-Executive, is featured in one of the ads. Lusby is a life-long resident of Scott County and has witnessed the positive impact of Toyota since it arrived in 1986. Other testimonials used in the campaign include one from Testuo (Ted) Agata, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America (TEMA). With the theme of volunteering starts at the top, Mr. Agata is seen volunteering with hundreds of Toyota team members at several events around Kentucky and the Cincinnati area. The campaign also features Toyota team members Marty Mixon and David Pellet. Mixon, an engineer at TEMA, joined a group of volunteers that helped fix a piece of equipment at a United Way agency – New Perceptions. Mixon and his co-workers, used their strong problem solving skills to get the equipment up and running more efficiently. Mixon was touched by the opportunity since United Way had earlier helped his son overcome a speech impairment. Pellett has been instrumental in leading groups of team members from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana (TMMI) in the annual River Sweep projects in the Evansville area. The campaign includes newspaper and magazine print ads across Kentucky and southern Indiana as well as key radio stations in the same areas. Check out the print ads here (in PDF format):
