The Toyota Way

The Toyota Production System is supported by two pillars: “continuous improvement” and “respect for people.” The same cornerstone philosophy that produces quality, standard-setting vehicles also pushes Toyota to aid in growing quality, standard-setting communities where it does business. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK) believes in becoming an integral part of its communities by contributing to the economic growth of the area by volunteering time and funding organizations, upholding strict moral standards and setting high standards for environmental performance.

Funding Priorities

TMMK makes grants in the following areas:

Education:  We are committed to the education of people of all ages.  In particular, we participate in educational programs that will help ensure the success of Kentucky's reform related programs

Environment:  We support a variety of efforts to provide for the education, sustainability and preservation of our environment.

Civic and Community Progress: We help make a difference by supporting groups that address local and state issues as well as provide leadership programs for developing human capital.

Health and Human Services:  We support the advancement of physical and mental health for people of all ages.  We strive to strengthen the quality of individual and family life by providing opportunities for personal growth and development.

Arts and Culture: We believe in the preservation and advancement of the arts and culture, particularly for our children; therefore, we support events that bring a variety of art programs to the community.

Minorities and Diversity:  We support the advancement and growth of opportunity, inclusion, respect, equality and justice for  all people.

These lists are not meant to provide an all-inclusive list of activities and programs TMMK may support.  Please feel free to contact our coordinating Community Relations staff to discuss whether your ideas fit within our guidelines.
