Steve St. Angelo joined Toyota as Vice President of Manufacturing at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK), the company’s largest facility outside Japan on April 1, 2005. In June 2006, he was named President of TMMK and on August 1st, 2010 was elevated to Chairman of the Georgetown, Ky., facility as well as Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, Inc. (TMMMS).

On June 26, 2007, St. Angelo was named the Senior Vice President of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America, Inc., (TEMA).  TEMA supports Toyota's engineering and manufacturing operations in North America. In June 2009, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of TEMA with responsibilities for the Strategic Business Management Shop Self Reliance Group (SSR) as well as the North American Support Center (NAPSC).  Also in June 2009, he was named as Managing Officer at Toyota Motor Corporation. 

In March 2010, St. Angelo was named the Chief Quality Officer of the North American Quality Task Force. His responsibilities include executing a six-point action plan outlined by Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation.  The plan’s elements include improved quality assurance; enhanced customer research; strengthened quality management training; incorporation of best practices through outside professionals; closer cooperation with regulatory authorities; and improved regional autonomy.

As President of TMMK, St. Angelo was responsible for all aspects of the 7.5 million square foot facility which assembles the Camry, Camry hybrid, Avalon, the all-new Venza, as well as four and six cylinder engines and axle production. 

St. Angelo’s 35-plus year career in automobile manufacturing began with General Motors as a production team member at the Fisher Body Fleetwood plant in Detroit.  At GM, St. Angelo held a variety of leadership positions in manufacturing engineering and plant management at several assembly plants and at the GM Tech Center. 

He also held the position of Manufacturing Director at General Motors de Mexico where he had responsibilities for three major complexes - Production Engineering, Production Control and Quality.

In 1995, St. Angelo relocated to New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI), the joint venture between GM and Toyota in California where he held the position of Senior Advisor and eventually was named Vice President in September 2001.

Born in Detroit in December 1955, St. Angelo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from Madonna University, an associate degree in industrial management and electrical technology from Henry Ford College and a master's degree in manufacturing management from Kettering University.  He also completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

St. Angelo currently serves on the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Task Force on Post-Secondary Education and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Japan/America Society of Kentucky (JASK) and the Board of Directors for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

St. Angelo and his wife, Michele, have two daughters and reside in Lexington, Kentucky.
