Shigekazu Kato is Treasurer at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) in Georgetown, Kentucky.  He is also Executive Advisor of Administration.

Mr. Kato joined Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in 1987 in the Patent Department that was changed to Intellectual Property Dept. in 1991.  He spent two years in Washington DC as a patent trainee between 1993 and 1995.  In 2001, he was assigned to Business Planning where he developed company Hoshin and global master plan systems.  He was assigned to the Accounting Department in 2004 and was instrumental in developing a global profit plan.  Mr. Kato returned to the United States in 2008 and he became a senior advisor of Accounting & Finance at Toyota Motor Manufacturing & Engineering North America, Inc. (TEMA). He became Treasurer at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in January of 2011.

Mr. Kato is a native of Nagoya, Japan.  He received a Bachelor of Law Degree at Nagoya University.  Mr. Kato resides in Lexington with his wife (Yumiko) and two children. He played basketball in college, and now he enjoys playing golf, jogging and is a spectator of many sports.
