Liz Fair was named General Manager of Cost Management and Corporate Planning at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) in July 2010. Her responsibilities include process and system development of tools which enhance the company’s understanding of cost and production efficiency and its ability to manage these critical aspects of the business.

Fair is also responsible for managing the corporate planning function at TMMK including annual and long term strategic planning and the coordination and support of various functional responsibilities of TMMK’s officers. She is also leading the organization in the areas of improving Diversity and Inclusion and insuring Corporate Compliance for TMMK.

Fair began her career at TMMK as a Specialist in Production Engineering in January 1988. She was promoted to Assistant Manager in Assembly & Production Engineering in July 1992 then to Manager in August 1996. Fair was named Department Head of Assembly and Assistant General Manager in April 1999. Her responsibilities in manufacturing at TMMK included new model development and implementation, cost and productivity planning, equipment design and implementation, long term production planning and supervision of engineering, maintenance, logistics and special projects.

Prior to joining TMMK, Fair worked for a manufacturing consulting firm designing safety, productivity and reliability systems. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1981.

Fair serves as a board member of the Kentucky World Trade Center and participates regularly in various women’s networking organizations. She is also very involved in supporting youth sports outside of her responsibilities at Toyota.

Fair is married with three children and resides in Lexington, Kentucky.
