David Cox
General Manager, Powertrain David Cox was named General Manager of TMMK’s Power Train facility on August 1, 2007. His responsibilities include overseeing four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine production and axle manufacturing. Prior to his Power Train responsibilities, Cox was the General Manager of Engineering and Chief Manufacturing Project Engineer at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA). TEMA is responsible for Toyota's North American engineering design and development, R&D and growing manufacturing activities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Cox was responsible for overseeing new model production preparation and was also the support leader for Toyota's Baja California plant and Toyota's Subaru Indiana Automotive production in Lafayette, Indiana. In previous positions with TEMA, Cox was General Manager of Body Production Engineering (including Stamping, Body Weld, and Paint), and Assistant General Manager of Power Train Engineering. He joined Toyota in 1989 beginning as a Production Specialist at TMMK. Prior to joining Toyota, Cox was a Senior Project Engineer with GTE Products Corp. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and is a native of Lexington, Ky. He currently resides in Georgetown, Ky. with his wife and eight children. |
